Co-ordinating communications for a cross-border transaction between the AIM-listed Brave Bison plc and Frankfurt-listed Social Chain AG

Brave Bison, the digital advertising and technology services company, appointed Powerscourt as its first ever financial PR advisor with a brief to support the company on financial communications and media engagement surrounding its acquisition of Social Chain. As a small company seeking to sustain momentum in its growth, both organic and by acquisition, the company wanted to gain maximum exposure for its strategy and recognition for its success to date. In addition, Social Chain had a relatively complicated recent corporate history, and the Brave Bison management team wanted to minimise the potential impact of this on the perceived quality and value of the acquisition, and on the perception of management’s approach to talented entrepreneurs.

In February 2023, AIM-listed Brave Bison plc acquired Social Chain – the social media and influencer marketing agency founded by Dragons’ Den and Diary of a CEO star Steven Bartlett – for an initial consideration of £7.7m, funded in part by a £4.7m capital raise. The acquisition brought people and clients such as Amazon, TikTok, Arla and KFC, as well Brave Bison’s first offices in the US and Manchester. Powerscourt helped management use this exciting fourth acquisition to take awareness of the business in the City and its industry to a higher level via media and analysts, while managing associated risks to present a talent-friendly organisation.
