Many UK financial advisers now outsource portfolio decisions to third-party asset managers due to regulatory pressures, compliance demands, and cost efficiency. Dominated by a few players in the market, it is tough for new entrants to gain traction. Global asset manager, Invesco, had begun making inroads, but in 2024, scaling its outsourcing business became a key priority. To succeed we needed a bold approach to capture the attention of advisers and help the sales team gain cut through in a crowded market. Rather than simply promoting Invesco’s outsourcing solutions, we focused on what advisers truly valued - services and support that help strengthen client relationships.

While outsourcing, is often seen as a practical and operational decision, our bespoke adviser research revealed a critical, but often overlooked benefit - it gives advisers more time to build trusted client relationships. Recognising this untapped opportunity, we connected one of Invesco’s most valuable outsourcing benefits - the gift of time - as the solution to a major unmet market need: soft skills development. Our solution was to create and launch Invesco Intelligence Plus, a first-of-its-kind CPD-accredited platform – positioned as the Netflix of learning - designed to enhance technical investment expertise and the essential soft skills required by advisers – providing them with engaging, on-demand premium learning content. No other asset manager had done this before – making it a true industry first, which has had market-changing impact and recognition.
